Outreach & Missions

1. Mission Statement

– The O&M committee represents IPC by reaching out with the love of Christ to share the Gospel with those, in Switzerland and around the world, who are disenfranchised and have been marginalized by society

– O&M allocates mission-related resources of IPC to coordinate activities that serve and empower those in spiritual and physical needs outside of IPC

– O&M raises the level of mission- knowledge and involvement of all IPC members

– Within IPC, O&M serves as a contact and coordination platform for outreach and mission related activities

2. Projects supported by O&M

Projects should fall under one of the following categories:

– child care and education

– medical support

– evangelism and church support

– relief and development

3. Adopted People Group

IPC, through the O&M Committee, supports financially, since the early 2000’s, the Shan in Myanmar and Thailand. The Shan are IPC’s adopted people group and the support provided helps evangelization in the Shan country through different ways such as printing and distribution of Bibles in Shan language, radio broadcasting to propagate the Gospel etc.

4. Individuals supported by O&M

– IPC members on the mission field ( short and longer term)

– Missionaries, who were previously members of IPC, and who were sent out by IPC or by a sending agency

– Young members of the IPC congregation may be supported for short term mission trips to promote their active involvement in Mission projects

– IPC members with a calling to full time missionary service can be provided support for mission training and theological education

5. Special projects

Every year, two special fund-raising events are organized as follows:

– Harvest Festival ( in November): proceeds are allocated to a project identified, every year, by the O&M committee

– Christmas Collection ( in November) : proceeds are allocated to an organization involved in Local Outreach

6. O&M Booklet

Every year, in January, the O&M Committee issues an O&M Booklet reviewing and highlighting the activities of the Committee during the previous year. The Booklet can be obtained directly from the IPC office »

Shan
A smaller team meets to plan events that help us focus our attention on the Shan people. Team members are in contact with our missionaries among the Shan, help organize fundraising events and assist members of our congregation who would like to travel to Asia and help the Shan in practical ways.

Detailed information on our Shan-engagement here.

Local Outreach Team
Another small team exists to work on opportunities for the congregation to participate in local outreach (in and around Zürich) or short term missions in Europe and worldwide (one to four weeks), in cooperation with partner organizations.
