Maundy Thursday (also known as Holy Thursday) celebrates the night of the last supper and Christ's new covenant with his disciples through communion. The term maundy comes from the Latin 'mandatum' for mandate or commandment. We gather together for a candlelight worship service to partake in the command given by our Lord to break bread and remember his sacrifice at the start of the Easter weekend.
